Yngvar Larsen lives and works in Oslo, Norway.

Yngvar Larsen has maintained a diverse artistic practice for more than 30 years, working across installation, sculpture, painting and print making. Rooted in a conceptual and contextual tradition, his practice is primarily idea-driven rather than style-driven. His work engages with fundamental questions concerning life, with recurring references to politics, ethics and religion.

Larsen’s commissioned works are represented at institutions including Rikshospitalet and the Institute of Psychology in Oslo. His work has been acquired by the Arts Council Norway on several occasions and is held in the collections of the National Museum and a number of private and public collections. Since completing his studies in 1992, Larsen has received numerous grants and project supports.

For extended periods over the past 30 years, Larsen has lived and worked internationally, including in Hong Kong, Rotterdam, Miami and Waterloo, Belgium.
